As the G4 Owners Club celebrated its
first anniversary in Gaydon, Land Rover kicked off the
celebrations for its 60th Anniversary.
The club presence showed how much progress has been
achieved in such a short period of time, supported by an
increasing number of enthusiastic club members and hard
work from the Stand team, that worked through winter
months to bring all this together!
For the first time, the club had the opportunity to be
seen in two different
displays.
The G4OC stand had a professional appearance with the
use of a new tri-lite structure, three monitors
screening G4 Challenge videos and images complemented by
two event cars, kayak, tent and G4 bike!
Additionally, the club was invited to also share the
Expeditions site with the Camel Trophy OC, where a
good interclub camaraderie was
evident as the clubs worked together to build the
"bridge".
On the G4 Challenge side, we had built a more thematic
display, attracting a lot of interest at the show. A
number of tents, event cars and even a fire re-created a
typical G4 Challenge campsite, complemented by a dummies
dressed in G4 clothing, bikes in action and even a
"lake" with a G4 kayak.
The G4OC also took part in the Interclub Challenge
and won the coveted Team Spirits Award, which was given
by the marshals as the club was determined to complete
the 2-day competition despite a reduced number of
participants on Sunday. (More
pictures coming soon!)
