For each Challenge Land Rover aims to visit some of the most unusual, remote and beautiful parts of the planet - from downtown New York all the way to Australia, Laos and Bolivia.

For the 2003 and 2006 Challenges, each stage took place in a different country, with the competitors either driving, or flying across dozens of time zones during the month long competition. As well as being the only way to get to the locations, it also tested each persons mental strength and stamina in the face of jet lag - and in the case of South America's Alto Plano, their ability to withstand extreme temperatures and altitude.

Although Land Rover are keeping quiet about the next challenge (2008/2009) the rumours are that it will take place in just one country - but a very very big one!
