Naked G4 110

Hello. I picked up my 110 a fortnight ago. Before being released by Landrover all of the kit was stripped off it. :(. Other than being orange, it looks no different to an ordinary 110 with lampguards.

It has been back to Landrover for a couple of days to try and fix a bit of transmission slap. Not been successful, so going back again in due course. I wouldn't mind but its only done 6000m.

Any ideas where I can source the missing kit if I want to make it look respectable?

Hi Paul,

The main supplier for the stuff attached to the cars was Mantec - www.mantec.co.uk but there were some others involved, including direct from Warn for the lighting and winch + mounting hardware (i think)

Pyranha supplied the Kayaks....More than that I can't remember!

Over the next week or so, i'm hoping to add a proper suppliers list to the Links page, with (in time) a list of what each supplied to which event.

Mark (Erasmus) and Alan (aedwar57) are particularly good sources of info though so I'm sure they will chip in with better info!

Welcome aboard :) It's frustrating that some vehicles escaped relatively unscathed whereas others were cannibalised. It's difficult to fathom the reasoning as I cannot imagine that they are worth more without their clothes! Anyway, in answer to your question,

Roof rack - Safety Devices
Snorkel, rear load area grilles and under body protection - Mantec
Winch and lighting - WARN
Kayak - Pyranha G3
Mountain Bike - Land Rover (original manufacturer I don't know)
G4 tent - Kayam
Rear NAS Spec receiver - Land Rover with Warn shackle

Do you still have the winch and snorkel fitted or did they remove those too?

eBay is the place to keep an eye out. Ex G4 Roof racks occasionally come up for sale as do various other bits such as the plaques etc. Apart from the roof rack though, all can still be bought from the original suppliers at a price. Safety Devices went under and have now re-appeared operating from Poland. Sadly as yet they are only manufacturing roll cages although there are hopes this will change, their roof racks were the best available.

As our club evolves we will be creating areas with all the relevant info and more importantly looking to foster links with suppliers and Land Rover to assist owners in sourcing the original equipment.

The guys who stripped the kit off are Universal Salvage, that's where the cars went to be SVA'd before release. How much of it they still have I don't know. I'm planning on taking a trip up there in the near future to see what they have left, will let you know.

AFAIK Safety Devices have stopped supplying the racks whilst they "consolidate" the business, not sure if this means they will start up again or not though so your only chance at the moment would be either Universal or eBay.
The lights are Warn SDB-160's but they're not cheap at around £300 a pair new. Again they come up on eBay both as new sets or as ex-G4 sets. The new ones will have the wrong brackets on them, the ex-G4 ones may have the correct brackets depending on what car they came off, the RR ones were different from the D2 ones, not sure about the 110's though. The wiring connectors were fitted by LR as was the loom used to connect them to the controller.
The winch is either a Warn XD9000i or a 9.5ti depending on which year the car was used on. Not sure where the bumper mount on the 110 came from, may well be LR themselves.
As Darren says the snorkel, underbody protection and interior racks are all supplied by Mantec. These do come up eBay occasionally so worth keeping an eye out for, failing that a trip to Mantec in Nuneaton may be in order.
I'm not sure what the towing hitch on the 110's was, as Darren says the D2's had NAS spec hitches but the 110 will be different

That little lot should get you started, once you've got that lot the obsession will have kicked in and you'll be on eBay all hours the day buying G4 related stuff, or is that just me:w00t:
