hi
i have gone through 2 sets of MTRs on my disco2 G4, generally they are a good tyre and do perform well in snow etc. On road they are fine but can wear on the edges ( they shave off at angles) so it is essential to get the tracking checked to get the best out of them. When they are worn on the edges beware if turning tightly in the wet as they do have a tendencey to lose grip on wet tarmac ( so ease off speed on tight turns). the other major issue i had with the set i inherited when I bought the car was the walls cracked and could have delaminated (I have seen this on a G4 disco 3) possibly as they are reinforced and a tough compound if they a stretched though over inflation and under inflation over a period of time they break down--keep an eye on the inside walls I caught mine in good time. (I have a set of MTRs on rims just for off road, shows and poor weather but don't use them much)

I now run on Good year HP all weathers which are excellent in all road conditions ( also brilliant in snow i use them in the alps regularly in conditions like we are experiencing now and great- I use chains if slowing is becoming a problem - more damage to vehicles here through people thinking they are Ok cos the vehicle has great traction ( not much good if you cant stop effectively!!) MPG is greatly improved with these. So i would recommend having the 2 set option but do check for angled blocky wear on the MTR's

do have fun

kind regards

David
